The plant will be built by CNIM Group, a leading European specialist in power plant design and construction.

The EFW plant is located at the Lostock site in Cheshire and will recover energy cleanly and safely from about 600,000 tons of residual waste. The facility is designed to generate enough electricity to meet the requirements of about 148,000 homes, and will produce 69 MW of clean, renewable electricity.

Comes SPA President Dr Vincenzo Cesareo: “We are excited to engage in the construction phase with CNIM and to have entered into a long-term strategic partnership with FCC, a leading waste management company with a long track record in waste management and operations. The project will convert waste to renewable energy and create hundreds of local jobs during the construction and operation phases.
