Taranto, 20 December 2024 – Comes SpA confronts its values in edition number 17 of ‘The Calendar’, entitled ‘Values’.
In the 2025 calendar, the Taranto-based company tackles the theme of its human and professional values, matured in over 35 years of activity, depicting them through effective visual metaphors and quotations spanning centuries.
Comes’ values make up a solid ethical structure, shared by many companies with lasting success, but in Comes they find a particular declination, having been refined through the choices made over the years in Italy and abroad by the company entrusted to the Cesareo and Carone families.
«Our strength – says CEO Vincenzo Cesareo – lies in being faithful to the values of our past, but with great dynamism, embracing innovation with enthusiasm».
Among the values depicted in the Comes 2025 calendar, three describe the year just gone particularly well, emphasises Cesareo: growth, innovation, sustainability.
The first watchword of 2024 for Comes is ‘growth’: in personnel (+20%), in revenues (+36%), in profitability (EBIDTA estimated +20%), and in orders already acquired for the future (backlog estimated +10%).
But significant progress is also being made on the ESG front, with the voluntary publication of the second Sustainability Report, which attests to the Taranto-based company’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050. Among the concrete actions, the new photovoltaic plant that will make Comes’ Taranto headquarters energy autonomous is nearing completion, and the first electric vehicles for internal factory mobility have been purchased, a prelude to a near future of zero emissions. However, thought is also being given to the wellbeing of employees, with the installation of a modern and complete gymnasium and reading room, which are always accessible.
On the innovation front, 2024 for Comes was the year of the expansion of its headquarters, which grows by 6500 m2 with new office space, new production lines for precision mechanics and new maintenance lines for wind turbine blade nacelles, but above all new premises for Comes’ Hydrocracy research on green hydrogen, which is 10 years old.
In fact, the Hydrocracy Advanced System project, developed in collaboration with Italian universities such as the Politecnico of Bari, is about to bear fruit with the market launch of a highly efficient small-scale hydrolyser, powered by artificial intelligence, which will enable the production of high-pressure (100 bar) green hydrogen to meet the needs of renewable energy communities up to one megawatt.
To conclude this quick review, 2024 was the start-up year of the Comes Academy, created to create a bridge between the world of school and the world of work, with the first 2 classes trained in over 1,000 hours between theory and practice, and 80% of the students already on staff.
And if 2024 was extraordinary, 2025 promises to be no less remarkable for Comes, with new challenges on the horizon.
«We are a great team that grows over time – these are the conclusions of CEO Vincenzo Cesareo – in which everyone knows what they have to do and does it to the best of their ability, and for this I thank everyone. We give our best in every project without ever being satisfied with the results achieved, because we always look at the broader scenario in order to promptly seize the opportunities emerging in the market».
