Project Description
COMES SPA in association with ABB SPA is awarded the development and installation of the control system and the anti-intrusion and video surveillance system, constituting overall the security system (PCS) of MOSE for the Lido, Malamocco, Chioggia and Centrale Arsenale inlets.
By supplying and installing sophisticated automation technology to manage and control MOSE’s mobile dams, ABB and COMES make the system operational to safeguard Venice and its lagoon. The centerpiece for operating the floodgates is an integrated electrical and automation solution managed by a Symphony Plus distributed control system (DCS) that collects signals from more than 50,000 devices and coordinates the operations of the entire MOSE.
Following configured parameters, the DCS maneuvers the 78 floodgates, according to specific needs ensuring tidal protection for the city of Venice.
