Comes SPA in association with ABB S.P.A. has been awarded the development and installation of the control system and the intrusion and video surveillance system, which together constitute the PCS system of the MOSE for the inlets of Lido, Malamocco, Chioggia and Centrale Arsenale. The Client is COMAR srl and the project will last thirty-four months. The Operations division and the Project Management of Comes SPA, in team with the ABB team, are already at work.
Thanks to the supply and installation of a sophisticated automation technology for the management and control of the mobile dams of the MOSE, ABB and COMES will make the system for the protection of Venice and its lagoon operational. The fulcrum for the operation of the floodgates is an integrated electrical and automation solution managed by a distributed control system (DCS) Symphony Plus that will collect signals from over 50,000 devices and coordinate the operations of the entire MOSE. Following configured parameters, the DCS will operate the 78 flood gates, according to specific needs, ensuring the city of Venice is protected from the tides.
