Construction of the new Line 3 of the Parona waste-to-energy plant

Comes SPA is a partner of Termokimik SPA for the realization of the electrical and instrumentation system for the new line (Line 3) of the industrial site in Parona, in the province of Pavia. Work on the construction of the new waste-to-energy line, resulting in the decommissioning of the old boiler, began in October 2021.

The Parona plant will maintain the same tonnage of treated waste and materials overall. The old line 1 will be shut down immediately when line 3 is turned on and will be permanently taken out of service when the new boiler is calibrated.

200 meters of conveyor belt transporting waste to the boiler will be dismantled. The route will be shortened by 35 meters, making it more manageable. The energy produced will increase from 44 megawatts to 52.

The new boiler will replace the existing Line 1 from which it differs in combustion and fuel technology.
