Udine (IT): Santo Stefano Photovoltaic System
Project name: Santo Stefano Photovoltaic System
Client company: A2A
Client: VGE05
Typology of work: Ground-mounted photovoltaic
Location: Santa Maria La Longa (UD), Italy
Starting date: 2024
Project description
Comes SpA consolidates its activities in the renewable energy sector by winning the contract for the design, construction and operation of a photovoltaic plant in the municipalities of Santa Maria la Longa and Pavia di Udine, in the province of Udine (so-called “Santo Stefano” project) on behalf of VGE05, a subsidiary of AEB SpA, part of the A2A group.
When completed, the new infrastructure will have an installed capacity of 59.1 MWp and will produce more than 85 GWh annually, meeting the annual electricity needs of more than 30,000 households.
The plant will have a strongly positive environmental impact, allowing to reduce natural gas consumption by about 16 million cubic meters per year and avoiding the emission of about 36,000 tons of CO2, contributing to the Italian energy transition.
On-site activities started in January 2024. Completion and commissioning of this strategic facility is scheduled for January 2025.
